    Range scrap surorise

2 times I spent 20 minutes picking up bullets at the berm.
I got about 60 pounds total of whatever that yielded 45 pounds of lead and 12 pounds of jackets.
I took some scrap to the recycler and got $36.00 for the jackets.
    I'm thinking thats pretty cool..

I did not volunteer that some of the jackets still had lead in them LOL .

Dog gone it! I misspelled Surprise in the title.
Sent from my PC with a keyboard and camera on it with internet too.

when I mined a berm to make shot to sell I made more money for less work off the jackets then the shot. Good to see you sold them alot say they toss them.
Reloading to save money I am sure the saving is going to start soon

Soon, berm mining will be the only way to get your alloy cheap/free. I can do the same @ the outdoor range I shoot, 30min yields 100#, mostly lead stuff, I only keep the 230grFMJ for melting. No place around here will buy the scrap jackets.

I had a plan "B" in case they would not buy the jackets.

The place that I sold too will not sell lead to anyone because we might make fishing weights out of it.
I was going to tell then that if they did not buy the jackets that I would just toss them in the river and they were lead contaminated LOL!!

Many moons ago in 1980 , the local sportsmans club had a range with sand berms.
Whenever I wanted ead I would just use my hands as a sieve and get 25 or 30 pounds in just a few minutes.
If I ever would have found a deep fry basket , I could have gotten tons of lead. But lead was cheap and everywhere so I never put any effort in the free lead.

No one around here will touch them. Into the trash they go.

I can get $2.90 per pound of jackets.
They have to at least look kinda like copper.
