    Custom Rolling Block 6.5x55

    I bought a rolling block from Simpson's and only used the action. Mac's precision gunsmithing went to work on creating the rifle with a new barrel, new walnut stock and one tight chambered 6.5x55 bench rifle. I haven't found the exact load that this baby loves, but the groups are getting tighter and tighter as I work with new powders. I shoot no gas checks and unsized bullets. Mac sure did a great job on this one for me.

    What length barrel is that; 26"?

    What was the caliber of the rifle originally, 7mm?

    It was an 8x58r and the barrel started out at 30 and lost about 2 to 3 inches.

    very cool....I got a 45/70 roller and been thinking about a new barrel/chamber.
    you picked a great cartridge thats for sure...hope ya get'er tuned up
