    Took the Max out again.

Took a bunch of stuff to the range, to try out a few loads and just plain burn up some ammo
Shot my TC-83 with an SSK barrel in 7.62 x 39. Was shooting some "Cheeta" ammo from SA, with the j-words. Went about 1.5", which wasn't too bad for this ammo. What was suprising was the velocity of 2809fps. Kinda warm!! Second shot over the crony , to confirm, was 2819 fps.

Course, had to pull the Ruger #1 out again and try a few loads. Most weren't worth the trouble of reporting, but had loaded some rounds with the Old West
"Hammer" group buy mould from awhile back. About 253gr IIRC, figured a bit heavy for the Max. Shot one over the crony, 1930 fps, and one on our 100yd gongs to check POI. No primer flattening, no extraction problems

Then shot a new target with the 5 rounds I had left. Most, when chambering, have some resistance the last 1/8", but one didn't , so figured would throw a flyer. I wasn't wrong, as it did. Had wind from about 8:30 @5-10mph. Results speak for themselves

Good frief that is some mighty fine shooting. Congrats on finding that load, I'd say it's a winner. All of our Max's like the heavier boolits too, but i've never tried anything that heavy.

It is scoped. I thought my MM @ 235 was too heavy, but remembered the Old West mould and had a few dozen cast, so thought I might try them and see what happened.

Kind of pleasantly shocked, to say the least.
