    WAA 20ga rb load

I have been loading .575 RB IN TC wad and Cheddite hulls and having fun shooting them. I have been looking for a load using AA hulls with TC wad and found a 7/8 load using 17gr of herco. My question is would this load be ok to use considering the .575 RB, TC wad and 2 hard cards under ball and 1 under wad weighs about 300grs. The reason to use the AA hulls is I have several hundred once fired.Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try to remove one of the cards and see what you had after?

The wad and ball where very hard to push into hull, might try a 54cal ball.

    WAA 20 round ball load

I use WAA20 wads with 2 1/8" felt wads I punch out from a 1/2" hole punch, I then soak them in wax, I load the .575 RB on top of 17gr of herco in a WAA hull, very mild recoil and accurate out to 50 yards, if you notice the pic of the spent wad how it engaged with the rifling of the barrel and how intact it is, I load these for my grand kid, she loves firing them due to mild recoil. Hey hatcreek, looks like you're loading all manner of big lead! Ain't it fun??? And yes, that 20 ga RB load is a good shooter even out of smoothbore IC to 50 yds.

Yes sir Hogtamer, that round ball sure is a lot of fun, I load a butt kicker of a round for my son for whitetails, I think I'm going to get one of those 20ga slug guns. HC

I have been playing with 12 ga 7/8 oz loads with extra-lite. I tried a variety of Wads (from documented loads by weight) and found that the petal thickness will dictate the tightness of the "push through" testing. For me with the lee 7/8 key slug a firm but not tight push through works well with my hard cast. About the same push as a well fit cleaning patch works in three different 12 gauges. I want to look at 20 gauge round ball, so this is a good thread for me. It looks like hatcreek has this kind of sorted out.

thanks to all that make this forum great.

This 20 ga Super High Power Nitro Express load is my all time favorite load, if you are reading this then should try them for " Fun "
Then load them to put meat on the family table.
    Pack them with great care:

**--** In 2021 , if I were loading them the only thing I would change is to use 2 1/2 nitro cards under .575" RB instead of two or 3 cards !
    Best of luck.
