    Dad died Aug 30, 2010

My Dad died Aug 30 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Dad was a ww2 veteran and served in North Africa and Italy. He fought in the battle for the monestary at Monte Casino. He was a kind man with a firm hand and was always my ace in the hole if I needed anny help. If I live to be a 100, I will always be able to hear his words: If you dont do anything else son, just be your own man and you will be fine: I am going to miss him more than I got the words say. My thanks to anyone who reads this.

Wishing you and your family the best. Sorry to hear about the loss of such a great man. We are losing too many of the greatest generation. Luckily they passed that greatness on to their families, like you and yours.

Was he a Blue Devil (88th ID)? I am sorry for your loss. Thank God for your dad and his sacrifice, he really kicked hell out of Musellini! I wish we could keep the WWII generation and trade them for the baby boomers! Prayers sent.

Curdog. Lost my pappy in July 2000, a sailor in WW2 and Korea. I'll never stop missing him. Rarely a day goes by that I don't have one of those "Gee I wish I could call him and tell him..." moments.

Best regards. I reckon he is proud because his son turned out pretty darned fine, it seems to me.

My sincerist condolences, he'll be with you forever. Mine passed in '75 and I remember his voice, the things he said and his laugh to this day. His blood flows through your veins and his values through your heart.

My thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Your post is a fine testament to him, he couldn't ask for more than the love and respect of his children.
