Got tired of 1 and 5 pound ingots slowing down the smelting process. Found a four loaf pan made by wilton and it has worked out great. A nice 10 pound ingot.

I finally got on the pot today. Some lee .430, 310 grain rnfp, .430 225 rnfp, and modified 32x77 grain for 32 acp. Oh and some lee 124 grain TCTL and a small hand full from an old single cavity for 38s&w. Good to get a little bit done.

Rendered down a little range scrap using my new LPG tank pot.
It’s so much easier to use a trenching shovel to stir in flex and pull out trash.

Got to try out my new Mihec 358-180 grain rfn, 15.5 bhn for my Henry 357 Max. I heat scrubbed with Dawn and 'heat cycled' it several times, but it was still very sticky? I lightly polished 3 of the cavities with my Dremel and Jewelers rouge, still sticky? Will be loading some later today. hc18flyerClick image for larger version.

Pablo, did you make your LPG tank pot or purchase it. How about a picture of the Star attraction?

Its not real Pretty, it’s just a tank cut in half with the band saw, welded a couple of handles made of rebar and used the top half for a lid.
I stiffened the Turkey fryer legs with some add rebar welded on, and wrap the outside with sheet-metal to help hold in the heat.

Hey Pablo, working smelter pots ain't supposed to be beautiful. Just made to get the job done. I like pictures. I missed out on buying a LPG tank pot from one of the vendors that used to be on the site, but is now gone so it looks like I'm going to have to do what you've done. I'm using a turkey fryer too. The pot is good, but I've been smelting large roof Jacks down and dealing with the tar, and now a larger mold I need a pot and stand that will hold 120# minimum and the LPG looKS like the perfect solution. Here's my little outfit.

That sure looks like a heavy duty working LPG tank for smelting Pablo

Yesterday I smelted a couple of buckets of WW's I had gathered up, and got about 130 pounds of nice ingots, then turned some of them into Lyman #2 alloy, 90 pounds worth. Today I just finished about 16 pounds of 311299's, size and lube them tonight.

I cast for about three hours today before I had to pack up for a road trip...
I cast about 25-30#, @ 10-12 BHN. My new NOE mold was flawless! The I cast also some RCBS 210 swc & 358 170 TC from a Saeco mold.

I knocked out some RCBS 09-124-CN's for Son Jim, and a few MP 311-180's for me, or GD Kelly & pal who are interested in getting into reloading. Will send them equipment to get started...

One of the most endearing sights in the world is the vision of a naked good-looking woman leaving the bedroom to make breakfast. Bolivar Shagnasty (I believe that Lazarus Long also said it, but I can't find any record of it.)
