I did a melt of about 95 lbs, alloyed pure lead and tin+antimony. First time in 5 months it's been warm enough! Next week it is time to start casting!!

I made 22's for the first time in 30'ish years of casting... boy they are tiny! Also made some 41's.

Made 40# of ingot out of some plain lead scrap to turn a bucket into a small stack on a shelf.
Finished casting and tumbling some buckshot in graphite. Soon will be time to pattern some shot.

Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Banged out 225 50 cal maxi balls for muzzleloader. That single cavity mold takes a while to pile them up. Also did twice that many round balls. That should keep my buddy and I supplied for quite a while.

I have the word out to alot of friends that I am looking for lead. I received a call from a contractor I sometimes work with. He was remodeling a doctors office and tore out some lead lined drywall and asked if I want it. Next morning at 5 am he shows up with 250 lbs of lead ! I have just started casting this year and this has been my largest free find to date.
Most of it still had paper on it so I figured it would generate alot of smoke so I fired up the pot around 4:30 this morning so I wouldn't smoke out the neighborhood like I did the first time I melted wheel weights The smoke wasn't very bad and most of it burned off rather quickly. The lead was very clean with very little dross. It's nice to see my stockpile starting to grow.

From my brand new Lee 358- 125 RF, the first time it was out of the box, I cast , sized and lubed maybe 100 or so. My son bought it for me in exchange for about 400 Lee 358-158 RF that I cast, sized and lubed for him. Sounds like a good trade to me!

Cast a few hundred .44 SWC bullets from my Lyman 429421 mold last night.
Getting a little low. I keep a tub of bullets ready and lube, size and load as needed.

I load quite a few of those for my wife's Taurus 82 in .38 Spcl.
Nice and soft shooting for her. Pretty accurate. Since we just shoot them at .30 Spcl velocities, I just tumble lube them.
