Did I ever mention that I hate to trim brass?
I tend to do things seasonally. May through August it is too hot to cast or brew. I just plan ahead. I am eager to try my new noe ranch dog makarov mold, and if the 45 I have on order is fun to shoot I will need more boolits.
When you care enough to send the very best, send an ounce of lead.

Cast up 200 pieces of Lyman 452374. Now to size, lube, and load them.
Yesterday I broke out the NOE .380 mold again and more than doubled my supply of those bullets before starting a run of .380s.
Today was- sigh- the Mihec .45 hammer mold. I love this bullet but it doesn't love me. I added a little extra tin to the mix as this mold is usually horrible to cast with. It needs better venting. I have even scraped the vent lines. It took about 3 hours to get about 70 useable bullets ladel casting I ended up only using one cavity of the mold. I have tried every trick in the book and then some. I had to stop because the rod holding the HP pin on came unscrewed and fell off. Had to find it. This is just a tough mold. NOE has a mold that is similar yet heavier that is looking more attractive every day

At one with the gun.
Same here, summer is just too hot in Texas for casting! I have all my casting and coating done by spring then spend the summer in the AC loading and shooting them. This year I've spent more time at the lake than the range so I'll probably have some left over for next year.

Thanks Yall!
I haven't cast anything since last early spring. Spring, summer and fall is reserved for gardening, putting food by and yard/house work. Squeezed in with that are weekly (almost) trips to the range to burn up that ammo. Winters are long and hard here in NH so that is reserved for casting and reloading. I have to say there is something very satisfying from a closet full of Dillon blue cartridge boxes.
It has been many years since I went shooting and worried "....I have to make every round count....I only have one box of 50". That is the joy of casting and reloading in large batches.....it is like going to the grocery store when you get ready to go shooting....plenty to choose from.
Collector and shooter of guns and other items that require a tax stamp, Lead and brass scrounger. Never too much brass, lead or components in inventory! Always looking to win beauty contests with my reloads.
Well lets see.Does a Dalton Special and some Rattle Traps count?
Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

I don’t know how many are here, I weigh them as I size them . It’s an NOE 454276. I went with orange because I’m hoping these are my deer hunting Bullets

Mornings aren't bad here, so I do my smelting/casting before noon, summer/monsoon time. This AM I just cast about 50 Cramer 30-caliber 175-grainers to give my son - will cast a couple other designs and let him decide which one I go into production on. The other molds need cleaning, and will do that tomorrow, and cast a few more then.

One of the most endearing sights in the world is the vision of a naked good-looking woman leaving the bedroom to make breakfast. Bolivar Shagnasty (I believe that Lazarus Long also said it, but I can't find any record of it.)
I cast about 5-6# of Lymans 357446 158's last night. A friend wants to try some in his suppressed Contender 38 spl.
I powder coated them with Black Chrome and red powder.
Then sized then .360 on my 4500.
That's when I found my mold problems. ( I started new thread.)

Spent some time with my lead pot and a 452460 mold this morning. Got about 300 cast.
I was refilling the pot with lead when I had a visit from the tinsel fairy. Apparently there was a bit of moisture on one of the ingots I put in the pot. A couple of new holes in my shirt and some time spent peeling lead off things in the area including my blue jeans. I was lucky nothing else was damaged or burned. Maybe a little paint burned off the wall from my language.
Proof it happens to the best of us. Glad your ok bud.
