10-4. Your Welcome. I have had those H&G molds for probably 12 years or more. I really do need to use them.

I cast a Lee 4-20 nearly empty today with my 452460 Lyman 4 cavity mold. Got slightly over 600 boolits to size and lube.

Melted down about 30 lbs. of telephone lead scrap into 2 lb. muffins.

I like it when buddies show up with scrap they don't need.

Didn't cast anything but was gifted another 50-60 lbs. of telephone lead. When it cools down a little I'll make pretty little 2 lb. muffins out of it.

I finished my first 110 lb batch of Rotometals 3-4% antimony lead with 1% tin added. I also shot 156 rounds of the BC 1103 last Saturday over 20g of 2400 and the alloy works well. Not sure how hard, need to get some pencils.

I found some steel today to shelter the mixing pot from the wind. It was a little slow melting 3, 30+ pound ingots the first time. I mix in 1% tin and pour 5# ingots for the casting pot.

I cast about 350 Lyman 429421. It was one of 3 molds I saved. 2 identical 429421 molds were sitting side by side and I managed to grab the one I had spent hours on lapping it out to .433". The other one had a base band maybe .429 and forward band .427. I found it in the ashes, was not restorable so I stopped before I ruined it and it is now a relic on my curiosity table.

I used diamond imbedded into the lap bullet with a file and only on the bands. It casts really well now although I kinda forgot about it when Miha came out with the #503 clone. Except for a few HPs, I cast the #503 exclusively for years. The Lyman is heavy. I never thought of brass molds as heavy cuz I started with a Lyman 4c. LOL I'm curious how the 429421 stands up to my other Keith's so I loaded 200 and they are sitting with the range gear for next trip.

Over the weekend I made about 350 81 grain 32ACP bullets. From a modified Lee 32-100-R2. This tub was the last bit I cast, they are so small it looks like you really did not do anything!

I'm with you, too darn hot to be spelunking at the opening of the magic lead melter!

20g of 2400 under a 250g boolit is a good compromise. I've had SDs under 10 fps for a six shot group at 22g. Was so surprised I ran it again with the same results. But it's to much pounding for a S&W 629, brass gets sticky and I start to get leading at 1600 fps. LOL

I have 4 Keith's now all 250 to 256 grain but I will have to regain my shooting abilities to tell which is best. I shoot iron sights offhand only, usually at 25 yards but I've been to the range 8 times in the last 2 years. Before that I could keep everything in 4" and get under 2" groups regularly. The photo below is the range trip before last (BC 1103 House Alloy, found where the house was) and typical. First shot on the right pinwheels the target and the left side are the follow up shots. LOL I don't have the muscle tone to hold a 3 1/2 pound gun steady for extended periods now. I have bullet/reloading production going again, it's just a matter of range time.

I shoot only 4 and 6 inch 44 revolvers and 2400 is my favorite of the lesser expensive powders. It was the one I grabbed with fire coming. LOL Lost a lot of #9 I bought when 2400 was unavailable … for over a year.

I should mention all my 44s have .431+" throats over .429" barrels and the bullets are sized to fit the throat. The 629 is 6 inch and has Rough Country sights which are locked down. I have no excuse LOL

Anyway the BC 1103 with 20g of 2400 is very accurate in my guns.

Today was the first day in over a month that the temp in my garage workshop was under 90 degrees. Took advantage and cast 500+ Arsenal 309-188PCs. Probably didn't need that many, but I'm completely out of CB-loaded .308s and have only 140 finished boolits on the shelf.

Got a chance to take two new molds out for a spin, MP 360-158 SWC no lube groove and Arsenal 30 HVTH1 170gr. Both were a pleasure to use
