    Cut rifled Encore barrel ???

    Any of you guys know of anybody that specializes in cut rifled or ballard type rifled barrels that will/ or also makes contender or encore barrels ?.. My interest lies in .358 and .429 bores for a special thought my dad has rattling around in his brain..I have done some searching and come up with nothing short of nothing.

    Thanks in advance

    Can't remember what Bullberry Barrel works uses .
    But I have a Encore ( .308 bore 7.62x39) and several Contender barrels ( 357 Heret and 445 SM ) from them .
    All shoot cast great .
    As soon as I can aford more I will order them .

    Bullberry uses button rifled barrels.

    So far it looks like he will have to buy a Kreiger blank then send it to Bulberry, or Ott and have them use HIS blank. Border berrels also will supply that type blank, but the export part of their website sounds really difficult (UK).

    .357Max...you might just take a T/C barrel and send it to one of the fellows that re-bore down there...they all rebore using the type of rifling you are looking for as far as I know......believe it would cost less also..........

    Border barrels are handled by OK Weber in the US.

    Not sure that they handle the bores you are looking for but if they do, Mr. Weber should be able to bring it in for you. Expect a wait.

    Figure on about $200 for a rebore. Here is one of the best ones. There are others.

    I would bet it would be a wash between the two methods.

    I don't know what caliber your looking for, but you could buy your own blank from a mfg. of cut rifled bbls. and send it to these guys.

    http://www.ottllc.com/

    They wire burn the chamber and throat to whatever you desire. You could technically design the throat around one of your favorite bullets. I've got a 338 WM Bullberry and am extremely happy with it, but I'm going to look these guys up on the next one.

    Another place to check with is Mike Bellum or David White at;

    and their forum at;

    http://www.bellmtcs.com/forum/index.php

    There's a ton of good info there. I used Bellum's T/C headspace gauge and started reloading the way he suggests and cut group size from 1 1/4" to 1/2". Also installed an oversized hinge pin.
