    Ladles recommendations

Now that I have a 20# Waage pot on order I may want a different ladle. Been using the Lyman one and it's ok, given the limitation of the Lyman 10# pot I've been using. I cast a variety but mostly 405-500gr. boolits from Lyman moulds (single & double cavity). Also pure lead roundballs from .36-.54 cal. Any recommendations welcome.

IMHO, these are the best: ROWELL LADLES

    Thumbs up

+1 on the Rowell ladles. If you decide to get one check Amazon.com or www.advancecarmover.com, as their prices are better.

I am using a Waage pot this year...and am still satisfied with the Lyman dipper for making bullets up to 560 grains.
But, if you want to look at a Rowell ladle, this is the best place I've found...

I don't see the Rowell as any improvement over the Lyman. Stick with what you have.

Nothing wrong with the Lyman but I find the Rowel does have an edge the larger the boolit gets. The extra reservoir of alloy helps not only in pouring but also in heat retention during the pour and we all know big moulds need heat.

The Rowell is nice for big boolits. The 1 pound size is more than adequate for anything I've even poured and you'll need to shorten the handle as it is.

Smile Thanks to all who replied

I have decided to order the Rowell (from Advance Car Mover). I may continue to use the Lyman as well. The Rowell, with it's 1# capacity, will be much better for pouring ingots, as well as casting. It's nice to have so many choices in the tools we use for this great hobby.
