An old pre micro groove Marlin336 in30-30 caliber.
I am a Marlin lever gun collector so I have all types of levers. Love them all.
Ive only ever had one lever action rifle and its a marlin 30aw in 30/30. Ive always wanted a lever gun but just never bought one until about a year ago. I really appreciate the easy handling of the gun and hope to be shooting cast soon. Marlin for me.
Although I love anything with a lever, I had to go with Winchester only because of the heritage and broad appeal. I thought, Red Ryder, since that was my(many of ours) first.
4 Marlins, 2 Rossi, and 2 Winchesters. More to come.
They are all good in their own way, some better after a little work.

Big bore for me 4570 and also a 336 and 3030
Winchester all the way, from several old BP levers to a couple early angle eject models no safety.

For me it would be my 1978 Marlin in 44 mag. then Rossi in 44 mag and 454.
Love my Marlins in 30-30, 35 Rem,44 mag, 444 & 45-70.
This country has gone to hell but now there is hope for us.
Marlins, Winchester, Henry, and Rossi.
Mostly Marlins though.

Only have a rossi had to give it a bump . I'd like to acquire some Winchesters and Marlins in time.
Im a winchester fan all the way. Marlin 1894's come in 2nd....If forced to sell all but one I would keep my Win. 1876 45-75 rifle
Such a shame we have to choose. Given the choice (and a lot more money), I'd have several of each.
I have numerous Marlins, two 1895's in 45-70, two 1894's, one 45Colt and one .44mag(would like to have a .38/.357) a couple of 336's in 30-30 and four Ruger #1's (if those count). I never really cared for the 94 Winchesters.....
Experience is the source of all knowledge.
I lean towards winchester as when I wanted my first lever that was what I found, stupid me I sold or traded it for something else. I now like some marlin levers, 62 and 39 just cause, but I have several more winchesters. What got you started on the lever action trail seems to hang with you.

Marlin has a very fine lever, but, Winchester is it! Now I'm talkin' old school, I am not fond of the 88. JMHO Coogs
I checked the Rossi box but needed to add Marlin as my dual choice. The Rossi 45LC is my take it anywhere, roam the woods, drive the ATV gun. The Marlin GG in 45/70 is my big medicine that will stop anything that lives in the deep dark woods.

I have one each of the top three ,
1972 vintage Marlin in 45-70
1910 vintage 92 Winchester in 44-40
pre bolt safety Rossi 24" stainless oct barrel in 357 Mag purchased new and extensively reworked
to slick it up.
all are great rifles and I enjoy using them .
Going to keep an eye out for a 44mag to add to my collection. Any recommendations for best twist rate?
