What does the "CX" designate on this mold? I can't seem to find anything on it. Thanks in advance?

It is a code that designates which cherry cut the mould and which contractor made the cherry.

So following up on that, it would cast the same slug as a modern production mold without the suffix???

Modern production moulds all have the suffix. It's the old moulds that don't have it.
