boolit sticking?

I have a Lyman 370 gr maxi ball mold single cav.
The mold sticks when i try to open it. This happens even when it heats up to a good casting temp.

You suppose it's a pin alignment or a burr somewhere. I haven't brought out the super magnifying glass yet. This mold doesn't get used much so I never worried about it much, but it's bugging me now.

I know it's not temperature because I use pure soft in it and the maxi balls are coming out perfect. This has got me puzzled.

I've never had a mold do this to me ever.

run a piece of rolled up dry/wet 320 grit sand paper and turn it inside the alignment sockets. I've done this from time to time to take out the possible lube or even the occasional bit of rust that may have set in.

I've had that happen and I hold the mold handles so there is a little outward tension on the handles and then whack the hinge bolt. That usually works for me.

I'm trying to imagine it without having one in my hand, but I hold one side with my thumb and forefinger, and then push with my two smaller fingers outward as I whack.

I hope that makes sense.
