I hate to ask this, as it might be a stupid question.

Bob J or (whomever might know), why are there 2 blue lines on your chart? And why do they diverge slightly from each other?

I've had my Cabine Tree just over a week, and I am kindof shocked to see how hard my water dropped clip on wheel weights test. They (several weeks old casts) test right in there with air cooled (day old) linotype ingots. They test on the upper end of the 86-90 range on my dial indicator, which puts both the linotype ingots and the quenched WW's (9mm with a big meplat filed in the nose) both about 22 BNH if I'm reading correctly. The quenched boolit samples might even show slightly harder than the linotype. Is this even possible?

I know this is an older sticky but I just wanted to add that I think the Cabine Tree tester is a nifty device so I ordered one. I do a lot of alloy tinkering and I've always wanted a more quantitative way to measure the results that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It looks like this tester will fit the bill.
