If I cast a 55 gr. bullet for my AR-15 do I need to gas check the bullet?
If I cast a 55 gr. bullet for my AR-15 do I need to gas check the bullet?
I shoot the .223 Rem in a Rem 700...I did an experiment shooting at a large can at 200 yards in a dusty, sandy field. Shot both with & without bullets with gas checks. Using 8.0 grains of Unique for a 2,100 FPS MV---I could hit the can or come very close to hitting it with the GC's bullets---those without; lets just say that the difference proved to me for a fact that yes they are necessary.
OK. Thanks for the info.
