    Savage 340/840/850/822 Scope mount

Just got my 'The Sportman's Guide' Shooters.

I know a lot of us are looking for a scope mount for the Savage 340's - Page 38 has this mount for sale at $26.97 for members and $29.97 for non memebers.

I need another one for my 325, which will have to D&T for the mount, but this is cheaper that the the one I bought for my 340.

www.sportsmansguide.com for those that don't get this catalog.

    Direct link to the mount.

I bought the weaver one. The rings IMHO are a ***. Replaced them with anouther set of rings and it works fine.

This mount is about half the price of the weaver mount.

That looks like it may offset the scope to the left even more than the weaver.
    "Is all this REALLY necessary?"

I have some weaver side mounts. don't know if I have the correct base. if anyone is interested, I can check. you can always get another base. as for offsetting the scope, if you are drilling holes for the mount, it's a round receiver and where you position the holes will determine if it is offset or not
