Keeping lube off the leading edge

I'm using a Star luber and I'm having trouble adjusting the die so that I don't get excess lube on the leading edge of my bullets. I changed lubes to a harder one and this has helped.

What's the best way to get rid of the excess lube on the bullets?

I tried puttiing them in my tumber but that only made for a sticky mess with wax and the lube. I tried wiping them down with mineral spirits and at least that gets rid of the problem but it takes time.

Am I puching the bullets through too far or not far enough?
Go ahead and run. You will only die tired

it can be caused by pushing them through to far or not enough or from to much lube pressure or to much heat. It also can happen when your sizing a bullet that isnt much bigger then the size of the die. First thing i would do is make sure your not using to much heat or pressure the just keep adjusting a tiny bit each way till it goes away. Personaly i dont worry about a little smidge of lube on the bullet but dont want a big glob.
