We will be getting a new Lawn Steel bay (apparently singular). We commonly get 9-13 shooters on a busy day, and since only six shooters sit on a line, two bays would help a lot. The issue is that there is a commercial company in Orlando who rents full auto machine gun packages, and likes to use the same bay we typically use for Lawn Steel. They bring in a hefty rental fee for the bay, and so we often get bumped. The deep nature (length of the bay) limits where we can play. So, as the new owners are building new bays, I doubt that we get more than the ONE that they perceive we need. I'm not complaining, happy for any facilities that we can use for shooting. They are supposed to move our shelter when they create the new bay(s). I do hope that they do that. No fun sitting out in the hot Florida sun in August. We also have to figure out how to move our Lawn steel storage shed. Will report how that all works out.
In the meantime, I had a great day this past Tuesday. My son is coming to visit for a week, and we will certainly make it to the range this coming Tuesday. I already have him set up with nickels, er... um... I mean LETS......

    Update.
We now have a dedicated ILSA bay. It will accommodate the two lines that we wanted. The new owners have dedicated the bay just for us. But could not give us a time line on when it would be ready, so we met with him that we are willing to work on the bay and get it ready. He agreed to let us have what ever we needed from him to complete the bay. He has been very accommodating. We have a member that has access to the equipment to do what we need to get done and we have leveled the bay and area for our shooting canopys. We are having work parties to complete the work and should be shooting within the next week or so. updates to come

We are now shooting in our new bay. We put together 3 work parties and got our bay set up. We all threw in and purchased two 10 X 20 canopies and enough aluminshield for flooring and benches for our shooting station. Garys brother-in-law donated 8 timbers for the target stands. We have been shooting in new bay for the past 3 weeks but now with this virus we have suspended shooting until the all clear sign is out. I will post some pictures when able.

The Corona virus has put an end, for now, to our lawn steel shooting gatherings.
The gun club has cancelled all tournaments and matches. However, we had continued to shoot weekly, including last Sunday and again Tuesday. However, while all of the lawn steel shooters report being healthy, it was decided to hold off from shooting until this all blows over.
So, time to build cartridges, cast some bullets, and do some experimenting.

Yeah. While we still have some work to do (moving the storage shed, etc), I am not going any where near others during this time.

Gotta remember that we recently had three thibngs going on, almost at the same time, attracting large crowds:
    Daytona 500
    Bike Week
    College Spring Break

I predict that there will be a sudden wave of cases in this area soon. There were too many people from too many parts of the country to have completely avoided it. So, I'm staying home. Time for reloading to my heart's content.

Ok now I’m really jonesing to go shooting. I’ve been cooped up for going on three weeks. We have painted the interior of the whole house, layed new floors and cleaned out two truck loads of stuff that have been stored away for years. I’ve cast over 6000 bullets, reloaded another 3000 until a part broke and now waiting for the new part to be delivered. I’ve cleaned every gun I have, fixed everything in the house that I’ve been putting off for the last year and the only thing I have left to do is practice with my bow. That’s my big activity for today. I just can’t watch anymore news and tired of watching movies. I need to go shooting. I need my fix. I know I’ll go watch the ILSA videos. Yea that’s it

I’m done with this staying at home. At the end of this month, the first Tuesday in May we ( the ILSA group) some of us are getting back to shooting. We have all been isolating so I’m comfortable shooting with them. We are all jonesing to get back to shooting.

Inlaws gave us some nice reclining lawnchairs for the back deck. Just realized I can shoot the pellet pistol through the rails at some soup and coffee cans we have set up at 50 yards...

We had 8 shooters show up Tuesday, a good time was had by all. Everyone knocked off the rust and shot like we had not shot for 2 months. I thought I was doing good winning 54 nickels and then Eddie announced that he had won 90 nickels. That’s a record. Can’t wait for next Tuesday.

Good luck with that. My favorite gun is the contender in 44. I have a octagon barrel on mine and I have shot 15 perfect games with it. My load for it is a 250 Gr. Bullet with 4.9 Gr. of Trailboss it’s running @ 810 FPS. (I shoot it in 44 special starline brass) in my load development the special shot a better group than the magnum.
