    Lead Sticks ??

I had a buddy of mine drop me off about 20 # of lead sticks. They have A.I.M. #5470 stamped on some of them, and measure about 3/8 x 5/8 in various lengths up to about 10".

I'm pretty sure that its body shop lead, just wondering if its pure or if anybody might know something about its composition.

It's a special alloy just for my Asperly Aimless. Won't work very well for meer moral guns. Just send it to me and I'll despose of it a timely manner.

Melt it and watch temps. Bend one to see relative hardness too, could be solder......

Sounds by the dimensions of it may be bar solder. If it came from a body shop, years ago they used to rebuild fenders and quarter panels with wiping solder, before the invention of body bondo. It may be 60/40 wiping solder which is 60 tin and 40 lead but that stuff is kinda brittle.

Interesting, is there anything that I can do to test this material? I can take these sticks and bend them double without much effort.

Hate to threat them as pure if in fact they were 60% tin.
