    7.65 Argentine Round Ball Load

I have some .311 cast round balls that I want to try in my 1891 and 1909 Argentine Mausers.

What would be a good range of Trail Boss loads from low to moderate velocities? I was thinking of a range from 4 to 7 grains. How low can my starting load be without sticking the ball in the barrel?

    Hi Vonfilm

Have not used any trailboss but have found 3 grains of red dot under a pinch of cotton and roundball to bee fairly accurate at 25 yds in 303 and 7.62x54 with velocity around 900 fps and the report of a 22 short. I would suggest usind fire formed brass and No sizing. Just reprime and load. Hodgdons website has this info for trailboss which may be useful. Note that the bullets listed are jacketed. Your loads would be much easier. http://www.hodgdon.com/PDF/Trail-Boss-data.pdf
