What is the makeup of lead shot?

What would I have to add to melted lead shot to make it suitable for wadcutter bullets for target shooting? Thanks for any help you can give with this.

Varies depending on shot size and quality.
Short answer is yes it probably makes good pistol ammo, about like COWW or close enough for short range WC target ammo. Might want a touch of solder/tin around 1% up to 2% at the most.

Nice long post on the subject to get into more details.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Chilled shot is around 2% antimony
Magnum shot is around 4% antimony
Both have some arsenic which helps especially with heat treating.
A great base alloy to start with, just add some tin and you are set.
