    C312-185-1R in Yugo SKS?

    My C312-185-1R casts .314", seems like a good candidate for my Yugo SKS.
    Bore on the SKS is .3125". C.O.L. will be 2.250". Any suggestions?
    Weight with my alloy is 183grs. Buckshot has given me some good starting loads, but was wondering if anyone here has actually shot this boolit in an SKS?

    Rico;

    Sure, I've fired the LEE bullet in my SKS.

    It works fairly well over the conventional loads provided in this site.

    My problem was that the bullet had to be loaded short of the origin of rifling by some 0.100 in order to function through the magazine. I didn't like it much for that reason.

    I now shoot Lyman 311466 with excellent accuracy, function through the magazine and long enough to engage the rifling at 2.230 overall length.

    Good evening,
    Forrest

    Rico, I shoot that bullet in my Norinco SKS using 15grns of 2400. It functions great, and is more accurate than any mil ammo that Ive shot. Although it has a different POI, due to the slower velocity.
    I shoot so that I can handload.

    Tried a load today suggested by Johan @ Ramshot powders.
    Lee 185 gr. sized .314" with 50/50 lube, Hornady gc, BHN 14
    WLR primers, 14.0 Accurate 5744, OAL 2.220"
    I recently put a Tech sights front sight on, about 1/2 the thickness of the original sight.
    10 rounds in a nice round 2" circle @ 50 yards.
    Will up the charge and see how it goes.
    Also want to try my .014" Al gas checks with this load.
