".32 Ideal" Cartridge? (Low Wall)

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to let future readers know here is a half page in Lyman Cast Bullet handbook 3rd edition pg 39 that speaks a little on the 32 Ideal.

Good .32 Ideal brass can be made from 5.56x50R, which is the European rimmed .222 Magnum. Huntington's usually has it in stock. You will need a strong press and a lathe.

With a 150 grain boolit, my pet load is 8.6 grains of Blue Dot. This load is in the 13,000 psi range, so is quite safe in a Stevens 44 that's in good condition. Typical MV about 1450 fps. from a 24" barrel.

Perhaps to avoid at least Three consecutive days of "Cleaning" the Same Firearm after shooting Black Powder in it?
Been there, done that, enjoyed the shooting; but didn't like the post shooting cleaning, with Hot Soapy Water, followed Dry Patches and then by Oiled Patches, that was repeated two more days to get ALL the 'Corrosive Salts' out of the firearm used.
