    The first cast

    Hi Casters,
Here are my first Lee mold, the first cast & GC maker , the shot and off course the boolit.
Everything this is thanks to your help guys.I read a lot of treads, I asked a lot and I learned a lot from this forum !
    Thanks again.

    Nothing wrong with those boolits.
Is that from the Lee C324-175-R? I have two single cavity. One drops great boolits. The other makes me pull my hair out at times.
Are your mold handles all the way on? That mold looks a lot longer than any of my Lee double Cavity molds. Like the handles can go in a little more.
Good job on your first cast.

    Nice castings!

That boolit looks a lot like my Lee 311-something single cavity 180gr. Might I ask what rifle and load? I've started paper patching castings I made a long time ago (maybe thirty years ago )

That fired boolit has some gas cutting on it. Do you plan to use gas checks? If not, some form of buffer filler might work. I like cotton wool but I have managed to ignite some and I've heard of grass fires being caused by it.

The mold is Lee C312-185-1R and I shot through an AK-47 barrel the boolits with GC.
The GC maker was really a valve, but passed very good to the measure.
I've tryed light loads like 6-7gr. for subsonic speed and reach 982 fps.
