Cast boolit question

I just got a lee six banger .452-255 RF that is dropping out of round bullets, which are running around .451-.453. This was using straight WW.
My question is, my barrel slugs at .451. Is it O.K. to run this boolit. They will be clocking about 875 fps.

Shoot them, the barrel will round them out.

Some 95-5 solder mixed into the ww alloy will help fill out and, maybe, cure your out of round condition.

Not sure how big a pot you have but 2% by weight should get it done.

700 grains in a 5 lb pot
1400 grains in a 10 lb pot
2800 grains in a 20 lb pot.

Bear in mind an ounce is 437.5 grains.

I guess my question should have been, since the smallest part of the boolit measures at my bore size, is there a good chance for leading?

That's how I read it too. Like they say, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting. Give it a try. Your specs are not waaay off, so there's a solid chance it may work out OK.

I have that mold. My suggestion is that you load up a few cylinders-- perhaps using a recipe with a proven track record. Do not load up a whole bunch, just enough for a good test. Your bullets may work fine as-cast.

your cases could help round them out too or the taper crimp die.
don't get carried away with the crimp, you'll cause another set of problems.

And yes, I would load a few and try them.
Then try a few sized.001 over your boar.

Your sizing die will straighten them out.
Are all 6 uniform in being out of round? Look for burrs or obstructions on the mold face.

Lee, out of round? never. Is the mold new or used? I have a lee tl 175 10mm mold that is well used. It started to throw grossly out of round boolits. The alignment pins had worked their way out a hair and needed to be tapped back in. Problem solved, "for now"

This is a brand new mould. I am going to try a different alloy and check the results.

I have a group buy 6 cavity in .257 that lines up .002 off center half to half. Not sure how to move the alignment pins? The sizing die rounds the boolit up but you sure can see the disparity where the alloy is being moved to make it round.

I was getting major finning . I closed the mould and held it to the light and could see through it. I then started looking for anything that might hold them apart. The alignment pins were slightly protruding past the plane of the mold. I set them on a solid surface and taped them in until they were flush. Now the boolits are within .001" round.

I had the same experince yesterday with my lee 6cav 452-230rn I set the mold half on a peice of hardwood and tapped it back in
