    .014 AL g/c's tested

    I have a Mauser 98' with a new pristine condition 2 groove , Remington , 1944, 03 - A3 barrel chambered in 30 - 06 Springfield.

Today I shot the rifle at 75 yards , off the bench, with the NOE 311284 bullet and aluminum gas checks made with Pat Marlin's tool. I was using Ameri-Max .014 thickness aluminum.

I stuck my thumbnail over the aiming dot for size comparison purposes.

Nice shooting Ben. I'm liking the aluminum checks. I love my job- but would rather be on the range with you today in this weather...

    Brandon:

Believe me.....You'd rather be shooting.......A bad day at the range is better than a good day on the job.

Didn't anyone tell you those alum checks just won't work. And besides that the alum oxide will wipe your barrel clean of rifling in only 50/60 thousand rds. Nice job!!
