    annealing????

Well tonight I took a dutch oven and stood up on head end 40S&W brass across the whole bottom. I then put it on my smelting burner for about a hour. I watched it close and when the bottom started to get a faint glow I pulled it off.

I fished a case out ,it wat dark and had a very tiny bit of scale on the bottom but no where else. After it cooled I squeezed the mouth with my hands and it buckled, then I squeezed a unheated case mouth with the same pressure and it hardly budged. So I think I got it????
    Does this sound right? Thanks..Buck

Thanks, I was worried about not seeing more scale. I started thinking I almost did it but removed them too soon. Thanks again...Buck
