I recently aquired a lyman 4 cavity mold which drops two different boolits, #'s on the mold 311359, drops a 115gr GC, 403168 drops a 200gr. ? is, could have this mold been a special order or was this a common practice a few years back?

Once upon a time, you could order about anything you wanted from Lyman. I had a 4 cavity that cast 4 different .358 diameter boolits. I believe it was 1960's production, so not that long ago.
Makes yu kinda wonder what the original owner had for rifles... Gotta love some of the history that comes with an od mold. If only they could talk.
the 311359 is in another thread its for the 32/20 as a single shot.or bolt gun.
the other is for a win 40/60.and is sold even now in lymans cat.
having most cat is handy.
