    H & R "automatic" 32 S & W

    Bought a H & R 32 S & W pistol today Great shape. I have loads from some articles but like to know more about the gun Pic enclosed

    The "automatic" stood for the automatic ejection of the cases when you break it open. My recommendation is to use Black Powder in reloaded cases. VERY light smokeless if you insist. I once had a stiff (but not overloaded) smokeless load in a break top. When fired, the gun swung open and ejected the shell up over my head.

    I used one for years for SASS side matches (pocket pistol). Used only factory loads, never a problem. Factory equivalent should be OK.

    Very cast friendly little cartridge. A boolit in the 85-100 gr area is appropriate at around 600-650 fps. Only takes a pinch of Bullseye or Red Dot to do it. Some of those guns are actually good shooters if you can handle the "sights". Other tend to spit lead and due to abuse and timing issues.

    Don't hotrod it.

    I have several that I'm loading with Trailboss & .315 round balls with very good sucess right now...

    Just tried Trail Boss 2.7g with 90 g SWC.Shot into a stump Have to do more testing ,but TB does fill the case nicely

    When I shoot something like that into a stump, the boolits usually bounce back at me. No harm, like a kid throwing a stone at you.
