You wil be able to crimp slightly more. Taper crimp about .002" smaller on the mouth, compared to the body of the brasss. Do a little more than take the bell out. Test for fit in your guns chamber.
I remove bell only. I get best accuracy this way.
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive".
I smoothed the bell out without any crimp and never had any bullets back out from recoil using the forty. Wouldn't hurt to try .002 crimp on some loads, but you take a chance of reducing/squshing the diameter of the cast bullet and causing problems.
I go just a bit past the smothening out the bell stage. To heavy and you will end up with an undersized bullet.
Just be careful is you are using a FCD. It can actually swage down the diameter of the boolit and you may get leading. Yes, this is experience talking.
