2400 does well
as does 4895.
some use 4198 and others use 4227
Those are all good. It depends on what you want, velocity wise. There's also good loads with fast powders like Bullseye and Red Dot, and then there's good loads using slow powders. Lots of choices.
I am shooting 25.0 grains of IMR 4895 (pull-down) under a 160 grain cast and a GC. Getting good accuracy and no leading at this time.

I have used the 311466 with good success over surplus WC860. 2400 was another good shooter.
[The Montana Gianni] Front sight and squeeze
3031 works well for me with several boolit styles.
It's all chicken, even the beak!
red dot, 4759, 3100.
Paper targets aren't your friends. They won't lie for you and they don't care if your feelings get hurt.

2400, and IMR4895 also IMR 3031
Just to be different, RL19 and IMR 4831. Low velocity load of 45/6 grains with a tuft of filler and about 53/4 grains for longer range stuff.
Reading can provide limited education because only shooting provides YOUR answers as you tie everything together for THAT gun. The better the gun, the less you have to know / do & the more flexibility you have to achieve success.
Red Dot 13.5 grs with 311-160 TL 1680 fts.1 inch 100 yds.or 311291 same load

My low velocity loads use 9.2 ( or near that charge ) using Unique or Universal clays . Soft lead is fine , no gas gheck needed and I think nearly any lube would work . So far I've tried liquid alox and Johnsons paste wax in different combinations and 50/50 alox . It's great for inside of firty yards , low cost , high fun

I like 2400........Creeker

I have had fantastic results with 19 grains of 2400 and 30 grains of IMR-4895. 100 yard accuracy with the 2400 loads are hovering around 1-1/4 inches.
Firsttimer, like others mentioned, depends. On a lot - alloy, fit, case prep, etc. Red/Green Dot, Unique, Herco, 2400, H108, 4759 (cannister and surplus), 4227, N120, 4198, 3031, 4895. What are you wanting to do with it?
Bpost1958, inch and a quarter, eh? What rifle/sights and how many rounds?
It ain't rocket science, it's boolit science.
I shoot the C309-160R flat based over 14 gr of Unique for about 1700fps and reliable 2" groups at 50yds.
