Talking rolled my first one tonight

been reading the forum postings for a wile and thought Id give it a try

used a 311644 Lyman cast slug with adding machine paper

after about a half dozen try's got the paper on right

waiting a day to try sizing wouldn't due so I placed the test slug in the heat register to dry

after an hour the paper was hard again, put a little past wax on the paper ran it threw the sizing press at .311 and it worked

cant wait to try it in my 300win mag

    this could be addictive

    Oh yes!

    Welcome to the club!

    Now the fun begins!

I bought three old rifles recently just for different paper patching purposes! That's addiction!

When you start getting jacketed velocity and accuracy with your paper patched bullets you will for sure be hooked!

Red face well went out and shot

the 32/40 was flawless and got them cranked up to max velocity

this rifle is a tack driver anyways

the 300 win really sucked ,could have done better with a wrist rocket sling shot

back to the drawing board with that one hit the paper at 100 yards 3 times off of a bench rest out of 8 shots

have it sited in at 150 yards with the 311644 and prints a nice pattern with cast boolets

a little disappointing but we will figure it out,got all winter to do this

You might try a little harder alloy in your mag. I have taken the 311284 to 3000fps in a 300RUM with success. Just need a harder alloy.

Oh, how I love the many forms this casting addiction takes on... I have half-a-dozen different PP cartridges to play with that I haven't even gotten around to yet. But it started with my 32 WS. All my loading and casting is done out in the shop, but it's fun to plop on the couch with my little board, sponge, paper strips, and just roll bullets with a good movie on a cold day... One never knows where this thing we call "shooting" is gonna take us next.
