i made mention in a thread that i was interested in some smooth 1911 grips as the checkerd ones rubbed my side raw when concealed under a shirt on the 4 wheeler. Ken suggested that i contact Phil and said he makes some beauties. I shot him a pm he sent me a pic with the 3 sets he had on hand and I picked out the set I wanted, sent him a money order and he sent me the most beautiful well crafted set of grips you can buy for $30. You cant even see a sand scratch from the sand paper. There was nothing I had to do to them to get a perfect fit except twist them on the pins a couple of times. Now I have been eyeballing other guns in the safe trying to decide if any others need new grips. I have attached a few pics. They kind of look out of place on my parkerized Springfield, but they are growing on me. Maybe one day Ill get a stainless Kimber for them to grace the sides. Two thumbs way up Phil!!
They got here alot faster with all of the rain they got during the time this transaction took place.
