    22 Mag Ammo

What does a box of 22 Mag ammo cost where you live?
I bought several boxes in the last several days.
    CCI Gamepoint 40gr - $13.75
    Hornady 30gr V-Max - $13.50
    Federal Premium 30gr Speer TNT - $13.00
    CCI maxi-Mag 40gr FMJ - $11.75
    Federal 50gr JHP - $10.00
    Winchester 40gr JHP - $10.00

Just wanted to know if this was a good price, and want to see what prices are around the country.

I haven't bought any in the last 6 months but I consider anything in the $11-12 range to be 'reasonable'. I would like to find a little more variety around here. Seems it's mostly the CCI Maxi and Winchesters.

    For me, it's cheaper to shoot 9mm than the .22 magnum. Fed 9mm 115fmj - $9.95

Last time I bought, about 6 months ago, Wal Mart had Win Dynapoints for 7.77 a box here in MA. Last few times I checked, they've been out of stock though - Bill L

Check the online suppliers. I base my opinion on their prices.

That's the hard part of living in Gods country, shipping stinks.

The only people who like the shipping charges are the shippers. Bull Jr. the prices you pay are in line with what we pay on the Gulf Coast side of this terra firma.

That's about the same around here. I don't shoot my .22Mag near as often as I'd like......

Well next time I go to wall-mart, I will have to try to get a few boxes. It was the second most accurate in my Ruger Single-Six. The most accurate was the CCI 40gr Maxi-Mag FMJ so far. The most penetration was the Hornady 30gr V-Max, and the best expansion was the Federal 30gr TNT. I just found the base of the bullet about 1/2" in the wood block when I cut it open.

I did not for a long time. I hope to make my Single Six a center fire in the near future.

Locally they run $10-$15 per box/50...if you can find them. I asked about a place to find some on another forum that I frequent. One of the members replied that he had some that he no longer needed. Long story short...$150 for 3 bricks.

    I relieved him of them.

I didn't realize the other problems you must face with that.
The prices you posted in your original comment aren't too far out of line with what I've seen at local Texas retail dealers, some higher and some lower.
What's the sales tax situation for you? We have 6.25% State, and up to 2% Local sales taxes, and the locals always seem to add their maximum bite.

    Can you ship ammo USPS?

I don't have anything to shoot Mags in anymore and have some left. I may trade it off if shipping isn't a killer.

B.Jr, convert your SS to which centerfire?

Those prices are less than at my local gun store by a dollar or two, but they are always 20% or so higher than "warehouse" prices on ammo and guns.
