    1st Felix Lube

I'm no expert but I like what I see. I plan on casting some 30 cal boolits on Monday and will attempt to pan lube them. I have been casting and reloading for over 25 years and after finding this site I see where I have done alot of things wrong. I did not have anyone to learn from and what I know is from reading and trial and error. The war department did not throw too much of a fit when I was heating the oil for the 30 min. but it did give her a headache. This is my 1st attempt at casting and reloading for a long gun. Most of what I have done in the past has been for my single actions and 1911. I have used alot of Lee liquid Alox in the past as well as LBT Blue and several other brands of stick lube in my Lyman Lube/Sizer.

    Welcome to Castboolits!

I always get a moderate sinus headache when cooking the oils, thought it was interesting that your wife got one too. I'm not sure if it's the perfume in the baby oil steaming off or what, so I do it outside on a hot plate now.

Depending upon how the lube comes out consistency-wise, you may need to make a "cookie cutter" out of a section of old golf club handle (use the section with the i.d. closest to your caliber) or other suitable tube to cut your boolits out of the hardened lube cake.

Let us know how it works for you, I've been using FWFL ever since I found this site and, while I constantly experiment, I don't see myself ever buying stick lubes again.
