    Loading the Ranchdog bullet

Been reading what info I see on the Ranchdog bullet for the Marlins and wondered if this bullet will chamber in the Win or Browning 45-70, as is or resized to .459- Anyone trying this?

    Good morning
It would be helpful if you were to slug the throat area of your rifle.
I have 2 jap model 1886 rifles that have tight throat areas as compared to my Marlins which run generally .003 + more in diameter.
Once you know the diameter of your rifle´s throat area you have a good idea what the final boolit diameter should be.

Should have asked the question differently but thanks for your informative reply. I have original 1886 rifles and a few Browning 86's as well. Was thinking perhaps the ranchdog bullet could be sized to .459 as that demension fits the older rifles without issues. The RD bullet drawing I viewed looked to have short ogive and narrow meplat and that was my concern and why i asked the question.Casting the throat area is good advice. Have you shot the RD bullet in your Browning?
