1. Typical car has about 2 tons of iron and about a pound of wheel weights.
2. MLDO (minimum reported lethal dose) for lead is 1470mg/kg. Here is a link. For a 10kg child this is 14,700 mg.
3. The reported MLDO for iron is 600 mg for a child. Here is a link.

Iron seems to be about 25 times more dangerous than lead. Iron parts of a car bring 100,000 times more poisoning danger than wheel weights.

I do not buy arguments on lead wheel weights ban before banning the iron.

This is micrograms, not milligrams. 1milligram = 1000 micrograms. This would actually be 1.47 milligrams of lead per KG.

It should be obvious to any dolt that child fatalities related to motorized vehicles don't involve wheel weights as the primary cause of death. If the do gooders want to save children they should ban minibikes, go carts, atvs, 4 wheelers, personal watercraft, etc ... Politicians & all self serving government individuals should be banned. Not God given natural resources.
I am almost 60 & been around HOT lead molded objects since I was 4.... the only lead problems I suffer are from liberals who decide what they think is best for me & my family.
If they really want to SAVE the CHILDREN why not execute every child killer, molester,drug dealer, alcohol seller to minors, child pimps, child pornografy trafficers ...... WOW I just increased the population 3816 per month ! Ask your politicals those questions.

How?

When?

Which test was used?

Was the test repeatable with the same results (aka reliability)?

Was that test known for its ability to actually measure lead levels, and not anything else (aka validity)?

Were there any other extenuating circumstances, like other diseases or conditions, that might have had a synergistic effect with the lead?

In other news today, it was reported that I bring down more money than George Soros, I am more attractive than Hugh Jackman, that I own 7 differently colored '63 split window Corvettes, one for each day of the week, and that I have ______________ (fill in the blank).

What I would like to know is, what was the highest lead level reportedly ever found in a person whose cause of death could be determined to be lead poisoning (and NO!, I don't mean being shot to death either).

Yes, the devil really is in the details...all those mili's and micro's can trip a person up. What can trip a person up even more is how a whole bunch of terms are operationally defined.

In the past, some communities I have lived in operationally defined a firearm to include a BB gun.

And if I may add another factor, we already have quite a bit of iron in our blood. Lead isn't really a natural thing our body needs. Add 600mg of iron and I don't doubt it would throw stuff out of whack.

Well, gosh!

Iron, despite being a necessary nutrient, is darned poisonous. So are oxygen, zinc, selenium, copper, fluorine (in the form of fluoride used for preventing dental cavities), and cobalt, to name a few.

We also need to ban air since it is around 21% oxygen and oxygen has been implicated as being a potent carcinogen.

The politicians really dropped the ball on oxygen, they could start by doing a study on the best way of killing off the most massive oxygen generator of all, the phytoplankton in all of the oceans. It would seem that doing that would take priority over banning lead since there is an awful lot more oxygen than lead.
