    Talking Cast for Rossi 7.62x39

Anyone here with experience with cast boolits and the Rossi 7.62x39 single shot ? I'm wondering if the bore is .308 or .311. Any help will be appreciated.

Mine slugged at .3095. I haven't shot cast in it yet.

    Thank You Mooman

Thank You Mooman, no one seems to have much experience with the Rossi.

I've got one and have played with it a little, but not enough to be of much help.
People sometimes tell me they dont own guns because guns are too expensive. I tell them guns dont cost anything. They are essentially another form of currency.

The NEF is a shooter with 113gr to 170 gr IME. I can't help with bore or twist on the Rossi.

I have one and shoot 155 and 160 grain Lee cast bullets through it and get 1/2" @ 50 yds. I load 19.5 gr of BLC-2 with a mag primer and get those results. I have found you must use the mag primer to get reliable firing. I think mine slugged out like the previous posters.

If it would help I could send you my address and a postage paid box, I will be glad to measure it for you and even work up some loads. Shouldn't take more than 8 or 10 years and I will even spring for return postage.

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier. I have one and it slugs .310. I had mine rechambered to .303 British (I wanted a rimmed caliber in the single shot). I haven't done much shooting with it since rechambering, but it shot good as a 7.62x39.

Smile Thanks for all the replies

Thanks a million fella's. I'm going to get a .312 lee mold and try to get some experience along the way. I think that I can make it shoot.
