    Epoxi??

    As a lube!!

When some types of epoxies cures, there is a sort of waxy residue, but enough to be an effective lube?? I wouldn't hazard a guess.

It was a company in Portland, Or. And yes, it was an air polymerizing epoxy coating containing molybdenum disulfide. Basically a very thin paint. It was inconvenient to apply and expensive. It came in 1/2 pint cans. Once dry it was nearly impossible to remove. From anything, including fingers, clothes, my table saw top, or garage floor. Bullets were lubed first, then sized. It didn't come off during sizing either.

It had to be well stirred or thoroughly shaken constantly or the goodies settled to the bottom. It worked really well, but Lee's LLA is so much easier to apply and use and it works really well too, as well as being, as I remember, about 1/10th the cost. I've tried to find the outfit, but got no reply from the address and the phone number on the label of my last can was "No Longer In Service", so I threw away the empty and don't remember the company's name. I do remember reading about it in "Handloader" magazine, and buying it from Brownell's about 25 years ago. If I remember or find the name, I'll edit this post.

I had some of the stuff that Gerry N. mentioned.
In addition to all of the faults he mentions, it didn't work too well for me.
I spent many hours scrubbing lead out of my bore and gave the rest of the can away.

Fieochie?? 455 webly ammo use a type of this lube. It sticks good, You cant take it off very easy. If ones boolits were TLed in this and then sized /lubed as normal, It may be a good thing at high pressures for a bore rider. Allox always has a bit of "tac" to it. But this stuff as said above is like a paint. Dry and hard. I might try that Rooster Jacket.....Buck
