Smile Shooting Cast In Remington 7600 308

I am a long time lurker, not many post's but I consider this site at the top for casting and related activities.
I like the Remington 7600 pump but don't know if it is a good choice for cast bullets. I have all the related things, molds, sizers and casting equipment.
If anyone here on the forum can give me any advice I will certainly appreciate it. Santa Claus has said that he has a Remmy pump 308 with my name on it.

A 7600 in .308 should be a good cast bullet rifle. If it was me I would start with GC bullets of 165 to 180 grains. slug your barrel and size your bullets at least .001 over groove diameter. Medium burn rate powders should work best. IMR 4895, RL7 and H 335 powders should give you a good start. You also might want to try SR 4759. You will have to try different charges with a couple different bullets and you are sure to find some success. Then you can very the seating depth of your better loads to try to improve them. Rarely we get real good success early in our testing and it makes us very happy but then we decide to further experiment. It is a never ending quest that we all seem to enjoy. Keep it fun.

Don't forget paper patching. That will give you J-word performance options. Just a thought.

    Thanks for your replies guys

Thanks guys, it looks like there is not much interest in the 7600. I can always load with the j-words I guess.
