Yes you can get that trigger pull fixed. I saw some recommendations on how to reduce trigger pull in the receivers of Rolling Block #1's etc in this forum in other threads and I am sure you can reduce your 1871 Rolling Block pistol rather easily and with no major mods to reduce value. I'd contend at 25-30 pounds of trigger pull THAT would reduce the value. Plus with a nice light pull it could potentially become your favorite pistol! Those boolits/rounds you made sure are purtty.

Talking About my 1871 Rolling Block

    Hey Guys,
    Thanks for the responses!

Yes, the trigger is a tough one to jerk! Lol!
I suspect shooting will help. I've been told the pistols are a little harder to alter the sear than the rifles. It's probably best I leave this pretty little Rolling Block be. Here's another photo with some loaded rounds I made up. And, one of the bore. This thing is like new.

edit............ i modified a spring from another pistol and reshaped and tempered it to fit.....trigger pull is excellent but it would not cap off...
i kept on trying and i reshaped the spring again but i still didnt fire a primer off even though it hit it hard,
it finally twigged and i changed the primer to a large pistol one and she ignites everytime and a superb trigger to boot.
sadly over here she can only be a wallhanger but its a lovely pistol

I have had mine for several years now and still have not shot it. I made up brass fron 348 Win and loaded with BP and the bullet from the Lee 515 mould. Strange thing is, at least with my pistol, that full length 50-70 ammo will chamber in it!

Pull can be reduced by replacing the trigger return spring with one made from .045" piano wire. Likely it will reduce the pull by about 50%. I make them for all my Rolling Blocks, whether rifle or pistol.
