" The original called for Alox 2138f which was a mix of 93% alox 350 and 7% micro wax."

You are absolutely right, it does need some microwax in the mix. I tell everybody that Alox 350 is thinner and they may need to add more wax to get it to the consistency that they want. I'm sure that there are times that I forget to tell them about the microwax. My memory really isn't what it used to be.
I will add that info to the web page.

He is indeed a great guy to deal with and his product quality is outstanding. I, for one, would rather support his business than spend a lot of time trying to duplicate his quality and put up with the mess. Try him, you'll like him and no, I'm not related in any way to him or his company!

I bought his stuff yesterday and it will be here Monday. Also, he accepts Paypal which is a big plus for me because that's my play money.

I'm on board as another Recluse 45/45/10 bullet lube user. I cooked up about a 20oz first batch last night just as Recluse explains and it seems to have come out perfect. It was an easy matter to tumble lube my first 150 Lee 125TC 9mm bullets in a small peanut butter jar. They're drying now on the wax paper. I even managed to not overlube them. lol.

is one coat enough for 9mm? those were sized first, and now need lube.

Just loaded 100 or so, they dried perfectly overnight, were nicely coated and absolutely not tacky. Will shoot tonight and report.

I use the lee alox with 1\3 spirits or thinner and still have a good amout of smoke. So..... is the wax the key to very little smoke?

the wax cut's down the smoke a lot.
alox and humidity will produce smoke.
add in some powders like unique or 231 and you'll make a LOT of smoke.
reducing the amount of alox reduces the smoke.

First time I tried tumble lube with White Label 45-45-10 on a MP 358395 HBWC. The only problem I encountered was using the Lyman 450 as a push thru sizer.Loading the bullets nose first left a thin pushed up bit of lead 1/3 around the base of the bullet. Going back to conventional(down into the sizer and up out) eliminated the problem. Will squish the thin lip back into the skirt and see how they shoot. Loading these with 2.8 of BE powder,Federal brass and primer for my S&W 52.

Ok guys I have been lurking for a while and got my 1st boolit mold (lee 240 swc gc 2 cavity) for my ruger 44 mag bisley hunter. I got lla and jpw but no mineral spirit. Instead I got mineral oil. Has anyone tried to substitute mineral oil instead of spirit for 45/45/10? Any advice for a new caster?

well done Recluse, I do it very similarly, I also use a '06 casing cut in 1/2 length wise for a bullet-stand -up tool, the heat -gun is a must!!
