I currently have a need for a low velocity 30cal round from a .308. I used a Lee 150gr fp GC boolit of 50-50 alloy. Normally I lube these with Lars 2500+ via pan lube method. For this application, I decided to use LLA and a bit of JPW. We are at around 1575fps.
First off, it was alot faster to get 100 boolits ready to load.
Second, the accuracy was just peachy at 50 yds, my intended distance for this load.
The best thing was AFTER the test firing of these loads. I looked down the bore of the .308 and it was shiney. I mean really clean and shiney after 25 rounds.
The barrel after that many 2500+ lubed rounds would be dull looking.
What is the cause of this?? The JPW??
I like it whatever it is!!!!
Might this combo of lube hold up to say 1900-2200 fps???
Thanks
Jeff
