What are swaging dies made out of? How hard should they be?
I just blew up my .44 swagomatic die
I need to make another CH style die to replace that one then make a massive one that I can't blow up. Could I just use O-1 drill rod?

............O1 should be fine if hardened and tempered correctly. Maybe even if NOT hardened and tempered correctly It's what I'd use until I found out different!
