    new Lyman Digital casting Thermometer

    I received my Lyman in the mail today , It seames to work real well for the money , 22 dollars at Midway , not a bad price , I havent fully tested it out but what I had , It works great . here are some Pice

    You can do the same thing with a thermocouple and multimeter that has a DC milivolt scale...1 milivolt = 1 degree F.

    Yea I have a multimeter with all the belsl and whistles on it with a probe and all , But for 22 bux I figured I would give it a try and do a review on it , Im going to do some casting this weekend and I will see how it pans out then

    Might be interesting to compare readings from the Lyman and the multimeter with probe.

    Mixed some alloy tonight, will do some casting Saturday evening , I did get a mount made to hold the Probe , easily moves up and down and swings out of the way , I will give a better report after I do some casting , But I did find out tonight that I was running my pot way to hot before.

    I just got one from Midway. I have rebuilt my Lyman 61, installed a guide for the probe, and hope to get it going next week. Looks like a great tool.

    I tested my Lyman temp dohickey and its with in 5 deg for boiling water , Low, and it right on with my new convection oven with a digital read out , so I guess that its worth 22 bux

    Don't have a HF but have a Craftsman and TC's if I can help out!
