Anyone have experience with the Saeco # 393 38 SWC?

..............First of all I don't see it on the Redding -Saeco list of 38/357 moulds. They have 390, 391, then 398 but no 393? Midway had two 4 cavity blocks on clearence for $94 but now list them as special order only, and at $145. I bought one thinking it'd be like getting two 2 cavity moulds for $47 each It's a SWC taking a GC and is listed at 162 grs. I was simply wondering if anyone had one and what it might drop at or weigh?

Take another look at the Seaco bullet mold chart. 393 is out of sequence, it is between 388 and 390. It looks exactly like 382 or 388 except that it is made for a gas check.

Buckshot, I was wondering if ever tried out the Saeco 393 and if so what was your experience?

I got one from Midway on clearance as well recently and getting good results with 13.5gr 2400...about 1200fps and nice clean barrel to boot.

To me this is close to 358156 but with large single lube groove.

I am getting some crud on brass and cylinder and think it is lube being blown back somehow.

Anyway, I would be interested in any thought you have on this mould.

#393 is like the 358156 except it weighs more, has one square lube groove, and one beveled crimp groove. In short it is what the 358156 should be. Lee makes a 158 gc bullet like the #393 except it has two square grooves and weighs 168 grains lubed and checked.
