    Improving 50/50 lube.

I have about a dozen sticks of beeswax/alox lube. What can I add that will make it less stciky and improve performance at higher speeds? I was thinking of Carnuba wax. Any other ideas?

Get some sticks of Lar's Carnauba Red and mix them with your 50/50 to make a version of BAC.

I have been using Lar's BAC and adding a 3/8" slice of Carnuba Red to firm it up a tad and make it less sticky. After a couple of days it appears to "skin over" and not "track as much as 50/50 or straight BAC. I do run heat on my Star as I lube in cool basement but I probably would have to with this lube as it is still soft. I have not tried Lar's 2500 but I think it is stiffer than BAC and is without the carnuba.

Lars 2500 is a fine lube. I have used it and may change after the BAC is run out of the 450.

The 2500 is a bit stiffer and like the above post, in the upper midwest winters, the basement gets a little chilly. A heat gun or lamp gets things running nicely.

You can't go wrong with Lars boolit lubes.

If you don't mind my asking, what is the ratio?

I have a lot of Carnuba Red and 50/50 on hand. Thought about mixing them to make some BAC to try in handgun loads.

    Thanks,
    -Matt
