    You have a good kid, there! Aside from the hassle of the flux, and of determining content, that is very good stuff for sweetening alloy

    Ask him what they use; it'd be convenient if it's all of one tin content. Even if not, if you melt it into large lots, you can get it analyzed by BNE.

    I went to a flea market a couple a weeks ago and picked up an almost new 1/8 lb roll of lead free for $1, and a barely used 1/4lb roll of 40/60 also for $1. That just about made my day.
