I will find the money somewhere. The proposed finished size is .454? I was promised that on the 423 and it fell short. Can we possibly go for .455? It seems all of Lees moulds fall short of the projected size. I know youall talked of figuring this in. Has this been done. I mean looking at the other Lee moulds and fudging to help in the size dept? I know we could end up with a .457 but it is easier to size down then to size up. I need .454 minimum in my 45 Colt. I really want this mold but dont need another undersized .45 mold. I would like to cast out of weaker alloy and this makes them even smaller. I see by the replies that I am not alone i9n worrying about the size. Thanks for all your work guys. Jay

    Jay,

I just got off the phone with 45 2.1 and we agree to draw it up for a .455 boolit. It'll probably be that or not much smaller than .454, but of course you don't know with Lee.

If it does come out small, you could always Beagle it, if you care to.

For larger diameter 45 pistolas here's an option that I posted awhile back:

    Interesting tidbit...

The RCBS 45-300-FN is exactly the same as my LBT .455 320 LFN. I bout fell over when I ordered the RCBS new and opened the cavity.

I thought, "hmmmmm this looks familiar", and I took the LBT boolit, and it dropped for a dead fit right in the RCBS cavity.

I mentioned that to Veral, and he said it was his design hands down, and claimed his designs have been "Lifted" before.

Is it any wonder why this line of RCBS molds work so well?.. or just an eerie coincidence?..

    RCBS fn mold

Is this the 457'' fn rifle mold you are talking about? Randy.

No Randy, it's a .455 pistol boolit. There is another thread discussing a plain base .45 boolit.

    Rcbs 45-300-fn

The reason why I ask is, I checked a couple of different online vendors that did not make reference to the mold you speak of. I am interested is why I ask.

I haven't been following closely but...

Randy if you were refering to my post it is the .457 RCBS rifle boolit.

.455 is the size of the LBT I have.

    Cat,

Check went in the mail box today.

Thanks again for doing this. I'm really looking forward to getting all the Keith moulds.

What calibers are you considering doing? I'm hoping for .45 (This one), .41 and .358. Of course I fully expect you to do a .44 g.b. and so, eventhough I'm not a .44 shooter, I'm gonna get that one too. After all, I gotta get the full set of "Cat Shooter E. Keith Reproductions"!

    Cayoot,

I figure I'll survey the group to see which one to do next.

    I intend to do a .38/.357, .41, .44 and several in .45.

I was gonna do a .32 but got beat to it.

    Cat-

Since the .32 is in the works already may I suggest doing either a lighter .38/.357 in the 158 grain range after the 173 grn design is run; or maybe a heavier .44 of 280-300 grains once we've already got the lighter version done.

    What do you think?
